Remote Learning During Term 3 Lockdown Year 1 to Year 6

During the Term 3 lockdown, the children will have the following provision:

• Daily maths and English Zooms (Year 1 and 2 - 9.00 and 10.30, Year 3 and 4 - 9.30 and 11.00, Year 5 and 6 - 10 and 11.30)
• Independent maths and English tasks set on Seesaw.
• Non-core curriculum areas set on Seesaw.
• Weekly collective worship Zoom with Mrs Coker
• Some additional story times by class teachers
• Access to additional apps such as Numbots, TTRockstars, Mathletics and Bug Club
• Timetables will be sent out weekly over email and Seesaw outlining the learning and Zoom codes for each days learning.

Seesaw

During the current lockdown, Seesaw will be used to share home learning for the children. The children will be set English, maths and reading activities daily as well as some additional non-core learning. Staff will provide instructions and a way for the children to record their learning through this platform. The children will be able to submit their work through writing, pictures, videos or voice clips for their teacher to review. The child's teacher will then approve the work and may leave a comment. Each child has an individual log in which have been emailed to parents. If you are missing this log in, please contact the school office via SchoolComms or email and someone will then resend your log in to you. If your log in is not working, please check you have removed the spaces between the codes before emailing.

Each day, the children will have access to 2 live lessons via Zoom. Please see the document below around our Zoom rules for keeping the children safe and ensuring they get the most out of these sessions.

If you are finding life at home during school closures tough or if you are struggling with remote learning message your teacher on Seesaw and they can help explore what will help. They will arrange a time to call you to have a chat about things if you are happy to do that. 

Make sure you share how you are feeling with the grown ups at home too as they may be able to help you too.

As a school, we subscribe to TTRockstars and Numbots. Your child will have a unique log in which will work on both of these sites. Numbots is aimed more so at Key Stage One children with TT Rockstars being more suited to KS2 children. The children may be familiar with Topmarks maths games from school. Hit the Button is a particular favourite in all year groups.

As a school, we teach maths using White Rose. They are releasing home learning packs to support children and parents at home.

Key Stage Two children also have access to Mathletics. If your child has lost their log in, please contact Miss Goodman via Schoolcomms.

The Nrich website contains lots of maths problem solving ideas. This allows your child to apply their learning in a range of contexts.

Integra (our school CPD provider) have collated a selection of home learning sources for all curriculum areas. There are a wealth of different ideas on their website to support your children.

BBC Bitesize have produced a range of home schooling activities for children to access. BT will not charge for mobile data used to access the site. Each day, the BBC are showing a morning of home learning related lessons on CBBC. This includes a short age specific lesson for each age range, Horrible Histories and Celebrity Supply Teacher which has celebrities doing a short lesson around their area of knowledge.

Classroom Secrets and Twinkl are providing some free access to parents to enable you to gather resources to support learning across the curriculum.

Espresso contains videos and activities for all curriculum areas. The log in for this can be found on the email sent to you about distance learning.

Out of the Ark contains lots of school assembly type songs that the children may enjoy learning. Miss Goodman's favourite is Living and Learning.

Sing up have produced a selection of home learning resources linked to music and singing.
